CEDEM YK

Yowali Kabamba is a PhD Candidate at Utrecht University in the Department of Economic and Social History. Her research project investigate how the institutional contexts of both home country and host country interplay and influence the sustainable economic participation of African migrants in the Netherlands. She holds a Master's degree in International Political Economy from King's College London (UK) and a Bachelor's degree in European Studies from Maastricht University (NL).

Previously, she was an assistant at the Center for Ethnicity and Migration Studies (CEDEM - Faculty of Social Sciences) where she coordinated the master's degree in Sociology, Focus on Migration and Ethnic Studies. She was also a researcher at Spiral (Faculty of Law, Political Science and Criminology). Her research focused on diversity and discrimination within political bodies and on the labor market, and specifically on the intersection of racial and gender discrimination.
