Photo Perna 

Dr Roberta Perna joined CEDEM in 2021 as Marie Sklodowska-Curie post-doctoral researcher to carry out her project “EU-TRHEADS – EU Citizens' Transnational Rights and Health-related Deservingness at the Street-level” [grant agreement No 101022244]. Prior to that, she was post-doctoral researcher “Juan de la Cierva” at the Spanish National Research Council (Spain, 2019-2021) and researcher at the Forum for International and European Research on Immigration (Italy, 2018-2019). She holds a PhD in Political Sociology from the University of Turin (Italy, 2017), a MA in Cooperation and Development and a BA in International Cooperation. She is co-chair of the Standing Group Migration and Ethnicity, and she has participated in several international research projects on international migration and social protection. She is particularly interested in comparative migration and healthcare policies and politics, EU policies and social citizenships, as well as on the role of bureaucracy in migration control and in the construction of migrants’ welfare deservingness.
