CEDEM Brown Bag Seminars
Shannon Damery and Alissia Raziano will present the first empirical findings from the H2020 CHILD UP project with a focus on the Belgian context. This work in progress investigates the impact of new modes of education, those which were designed to respond to the COVID 19 pandemic, on the situation of migrant children in Belgium. It focuses on what these changes have meant for the new efforts at inclusive education in local contexts. 'Inclusive education' is a key term in pedagogical discourse and describes the ideal situation in schools where the unique individual educational needs of each child can be met while they remain in the mainstream classroom. The COVID 19 pandemic has created numerous obstacles on the pathway to inclusive education, but also offers some surprising opportunities, both of which we will discuss in this presentation.
The BB will take place on Thursday the 25th of February between 12:00 and 13:00. The presentation will be in English and the session will be held online via Lifesize.
