Daniela Vintila
Dr Daniela Vintila joined CEDEM in 2017 as lead postdoctoral researcher in the ERC-funded project “Migration, transnationalism and social protection in (post-) crisis Europe”. Prior to that, she was a member of the British team of the international project “Pathways to power: the political representation of citizens of immigrant origin in eight European democracies” at the University of Leicester. She holds a PhD in Political Science from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, a MA degree in “Democracy and Government” from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and a BA degree in International Relations and European Studies from the National School of Political and Administrative Studies (Romania). She is chair of the ECPR SG Migration and Ethnicity, co-convenor of the IMISCOE SC Migration, Citizenship and Political Participation, vice-chair of the IPSA RC03 European Unification, and member of the Administrative Council of the Belgian Political Science Association. She is founder and co-editor of Migration News (online platform for daily news on international migration) and EU News (online platform for news on EU politics and policies). Her interests lie, especially, in the areas of comparative politics, EU politics, citizenship, migration, electoral behaviour, political representation and social protection policies.
